Internet Safety

Being in an abusive relationship may mean that your personal safety is often at risk. Your partner may track your whereabouts and your activities using the internet. In order to keep yourself safe when trying to access resources to help you, it may be wise to erase your internet activity.

How do I clear my web browser’s cache and cookies?

Each time you access a file through your web browser, the browser caches (i.e. stores) it. In this way, the files (including any images on the page) do not have to be newly retrieved from the remote web site each time you click the Back or Forward buttons.

If you want to remove all traces of the websites you have browsed, you have to clear your browser’s cache.

If you do not see instructions for your specific version or browser, search your browser’s Help menu for “clear cache”.

If you’re unsure what browser version you’re using, from the Help menu, select About [browser name].
